    WHY WE CREATED THIS WEBSITE...

     

    We wanted to create a sustainable online resource for both tweens and teens to access when they need encouragement, when they need to find resources for mental and emotional help, or to start the conversation to talk to their parents to get emotional help with self-esteem.

    Healthy self-esteem is very important for a person’s happiness and emotional well-being. You don’t have to think that you are perfect or are better than someone else to have good self-esteem. You just have to accept yourself the way you are including any flaws. Good self-esteem gives kids confidence to try new things without a fear of failing.

    Self-esteem is defined as your overall opinion of yourself. Healthy self-esteem is when you feel good about yourself and see yourself as deserving the respect of others. Healthy self-esteem means to me that I’m going to have a great day and feel confident about the things I do. Healthy self-esteem is important to me because if I feel good about myself, I know I will accomplish much more.

    Self-esteem is how a person thinks about themselves. It can range from healthy self-esteem to low self-esteem. A person with healthy self-esteem thinks positively about themselves and has good self respect. A person with low self-esteem thinks poorly of themselves and doesn’t have confidence in their abilities.

    It’s important for people to help others build healthy self-esteem. Parents can help their kids by encouraging them to try new things to build confidence and telling them they’re perfect in their own way. Kids can help their friends build healthy self-esteem too. They can give positive feedback to their friends and help them believe they can do anything they set their mind to. If a person feels bad about themselves, a friend can tell them that others don’t see them that way.

    To me, healthy self-esteem means being happy with yourself and who you are. It gives you pride when you accomplish something, but when you fail at something you don’t feel too bad. Self-esteem is one of the most important things in life and people should work on improving theirs as well as their friends.

    Self-esteem is a way of saying Self respect

    In my opinion self-esteem is a way of saying self respect. If someone has high self-esteem, they are confident and often tries new things. If someone has low self-esteem, they would pretty much be the complete opposite of that. Let's say someone is going to sing a solo in front of hundreds of people. Someone with high self-esteem would say "I got this!" Someone with low self-esteem would say "Why are you doing this, why, why, and why!?! Self-esteem is empowering, enlightening, and insightful.

    Staying connected with family and friends is very important. They are the ones who really know you and care about you. They will be willing to help you in times of need. They can also share their own experiences of something that you might be going through. They can encourage you to succeed in whatever you try and can celebrate your accomplishments.
    You can also help your friends and family when they are in need. Sometimes just listening to their problems can be helpful in itself. If they feel poorly about something you can help them realize that things are okay and that they’ll get past them. You can let them know that they aren’t in it alone and that you are willing to help them in any way you can. Friends and family are very important in life and you should help one another build good self-esteem.
